Heidi & Steven - Two become One: May 31, 2009
Steve & I met in April of 2000. I was invited along by a mutual friend to a local pool hall. Apparently, I was impeding on a "guy's night" but didn't know it! Fortunately for me, Steve didn't mind too much and neither did I. I begged our mutual friend for his info, talked to him a few times online and we were soon dating. 8 years later and we're finally planning our future!
Steve is an automotive tech in Virginia Beach. He's currently pursuing his degree in Administrative Justice and plans to join a Georgia police force. I am pursuing my Master's degree in Education after my B.S. degree in Biology proved worthless. I work part time as a server, run my own pet-sitting business and teach dance classes.
The Proposal
Steve surprised me last Christmas with a trip to Paradise Island in the Bahamas. He planned a dolphin excursion during our trip with an extra surprise. While we were in the water, playing with and feeding the dolphins, one dolphin - Stormy - brought me a small white box. Inside was my beautiful ring. Steve asked me to marry him while clutching the ring for dear life so that it didn't sink into the Atlantic Ocean. I, of course, said "yes" to Steve, but "no" to Stormy.
